A restored coral-stone house with seven rooms, a dark courtyard pool, and a table that cooks from the market two streets away.
The house
The Leyn Courtyard sits on Leyn Baan Street, a short walk from the clocktower and the ramparts. The building is an 18th-century Dutch merchant’s house: thick coral walls, a central court, teak verandas, and a later kitchen wing that now holds the table.
We keep it small on purpose. Seven rooms, a resident manager, and a kitchen that does one sitting at dinner. Guests book direct with the house — not through a large OTA calendar.

The table
Crab from the morning boats, hoppers at breakfast, and a courtyard that smells of cinnamon bark after rain.
The kitchen is open to house guests and a few outside tables if we have them. Tell us about allergies and celebrations when you reserve.
In the Fort
A 90-minute walk with a historian who still lives inside the walls. Kites, cannon, and the lighthouse as the cricket ground empties.
Leave at 7 with the cook. Come back with mango, jaggery, and a story about who sold you the better crab.
