When the furnace dies at 11 PM, your AI answers in Tamil — and books the visit before your competitor wakes up.
Tamil HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing shops lose 40%+ of after-hours calls to whichever competitor picks up first. The AI picks up first.

In the owner's own voice
"It is Sunday at 11 PM, a pipe burst in a basement in Rexdale, the homeowner calls me, I am asleep, it goes to voicemail, he calls the next Tamil plumber, that guy takes the job. I lose a $2,800 emergency ticket every weekend."
Three calls you're losing right now
- After-hours and weekend emergency calls going straight to voicemail — customer calls the next Tamil shop
- Tradesperson on a ladder or inside a wall cannot stop to answer + triage + book
- Seniors and first-gen parents calling want the conversation in Tamil — English-only answering services lose that trust immediately
Why trades is different from a generic call answering service
Tamil trades customers call when something is broken: furnace out in January, AC dead in July, pipe burst on a Sunday. They call the Tamil tradesperson first because they trust the relationship — and if it goes to voicemail, they call the next one within 3 minutes. GTA Tamil HVAC/plumbing/electrical/roofing shops lose 40%+ of after-hours calls to competitors who picked up. Our agent answers 24/7 in Tamil and English, triages emergency vs scheduled, collects address and postal code, quotes a call-out range, and books the visit to the technician's route-optimized schedule. Emergency calls ping the on-call tech's phone immediately.

An Etobicoke Tamil HVAC shop stopped losing weekend emergency calls
A family-run HVAC shop in Etobicoke — father and two sons, all on ladders and in furnace rooms all day — was losing an average of 14 calls per weekend during the January-February furnace season. Voicemail just was not cutting it. Half the voicemails were elderly Tamil homeowners who hung up without leaving a message because they were uncomfortable talking to a machine in English. The other half called the next Tamil HVAC shop within 3 minutes. We deployed a 24/7 bilingual voice agent that greeted in Tamil, asked the homeowner to describe the problem, classified the severity (no heat = emergency, drafty room = scheduled, annual tune-up = routine), collected the address and postal code, quoted the after-hours call-out fee transparently, and pinged the on-call son's phone immediately for emergencies. Scheduled and routine work dropped straight into a Google Sheet that got reviewed every morning.
The father's summary after six weeks: "I slept through Saturday night for the first time in ten winters, and we still caught every emergency." The shop booked 22 additional weekend emergency jobs in the first month at an average ticket of CAD $685. Two of the saves were full furnace replacements in the $4,500 range — jobs that almost certainly would have gone to the competitor with the first-answered phone.
Outcome
+22 weekend emergency jobs/mo · avg ticket CAD $685 · 2 furnace replacements saved in month 1

Trades questions, straight answers
How does the agent know what is an emergency vs what can wait?
- We script the triage tree with you during setup. Standard HVAC emergency tree: no heat in winter, no AC during heat warning, gas smell, water leak from furnace — these all trigger the on-call pager. Everything else drops into the scheduled queue. You can override or adjust the tree anytime; we version-control the prompt so nothing gets lost.
What does "pinging the on-call technician's phone" actually mean?
- For emergencies, the agent calls the on-call number directly (rotating between the people you put on the on-call roster that week), reads the address, nature of the problem, and customer callback number. If the tech does not answer within 60 seconds, it escalates to the second person on the roster. If still no answer, it texts a fallback number and tells the customer we are dispatching the next available technician within 90 minutes.
Can it quote a call-out fee? I do not want it making up prices.
- It can read a fee range that you set, e.g. "Our after-hours call-out starts at $189 for the first hour plus parts; weekday during business hours is $129." It will never quote a total job price — only the call-out fee, because that is what the customer is actually asking about at 11 PM on a Sunday. Job-price quoting stays human-only.
Does it work for plumbing / electrical / roofing, not just HVAC?
- Yes. The triage tree is trade-specific — plumbing has "burst pipe / sewage backup / no hot water" as emergency triggers; electrical has "sparks / burning smell / no power at all"; roofing has "active leak inside / missing shingles after storm." We configure the trade-specific emergency criteria during setup so the agent does not mis-triage.
