WhatsApp Bot for Restaurantstake orders direct, skip the 30% UberEats cut
Trilingual menu Q&A, direct order intake, reservation booking, kitchen ticket printing. Customers pay you, not Uber. From LKR 75,000 setup + LKR 18,000/mo.
The problem we solve
30% commission to UberEats / PickMe Food eats your margin
You sell a LKR 1,500 biriyani; the platform pockets LKR 450. WhatsApp ordering directly to your kitchen returns 100% of the order value.
Phone orders take 3 minutes each, lose details
Loud kitchen, customer's patchy English, "wait did they say no onions or extra onions?" — manual phone orders are slow and error-prone.
Reservations and Q&A drown your one host
"What are your veg options?" answered 50 times a week. "Do you have parking?" "Can we book for 12 people?" — repeated by hand, all day, until your host gives up.
Why SafeNet for this

- Reservation booking with table size, special requests, deposit collection
- Pre-arrival messages — "your table is 5 min away, water and menu ready"
- Trilingual EN · TA · SI — Sinhala for locals, Tamil for Wellawatte regulars, English for tourists

Meta charges separately — and we want you to know upfront
WhatsApp Business API isn’t free — Meta bills you per conversation (any 24-hour window with a customer). SafeNet’s setup and monthly fees are separate from these per-conversation costs:
- ~LKR 28 / conversationMarketing (broadcasts you initiate)
- ~LKR 8 / conversationUtility (order updates, OTP, etc.)
- Free*Service (customer-initiated chats), in many regions
Typical SME volume → expect LKR 5,000–25,000 / month in Meta-side fees on top of SafeNet’s retainer. We monitor and forecast this for you each month so there are no surprises. *Service rates change occasionally — see Meta’s pricing docs.

Common questions
How does the kitchen actually receive the order?
Three options: (1) printed ticket via cloud-print to your existing kitchen printer, (2) push notification to kitchen tablet/iPad, (3) email to kitchen + WhatsApp to designated staff. Most clients pick (1) + (2) for redundancy.
Can customers pay via WhatsApp?
Yes — Pro tier and up sends a PayHere or Stripe payment link in the same WhatsApp thread. Customer pays, you get notified, kitchen gets the green light. Cash on delivery also supported.
What if we get a busy lunch rush — will the bot handle volume?
Yes. Growth tier handles 250 messages/day, Pro tier handles 1,000/day. For peak rushes (Friday lunch, Sunday dinner) the bot scales automatically — no front-desk needed.
Will it work with PickMe Food and UberEats too?
Those platforms are completely separate — they have their own ordering apps. The WhatsApp bot is an additional channel that bypasses commission. You can run both — most restaurants do.
Can we send menu specials and offers via broadcast?
Yes — add the Marketing Broadcasts add-on (LKR 12,000/mo). We help you build an opt-in list and send 2–4 promotional WhatsApp campaigns per month. Approved by Meta as templates.
How are dietary restrictions handled?
Each menu item is tagged with allergens (gluten, dairy, nuts, eggs) and preparation type (vegan, vegetarian, halal). Customer can ask "show me vegetarian options" and get a filtered list automatically.
