In Sri Lanka, WhatsApp is your most important sales channel. Use this checklist to ensure your profile looks professional, answers questions automatically, and closes sales faster.

1. The Business Profile

  • Use your high-resolution business logo as the profile picture.
  • Set your exact business name (Do not use personal names for the business account).
  • Add your exact location with a Google Maps pin.
  • Set your operating hours accurately so customers know when to expect a reply.
  • Include a link to your website and your email address.

2. The Digital Catalog

  • Add your top 5-10 best-selling products or services to the WhatsApp Catalog.
  • Include high-quality images for each item.
  • Add clear pricing in LKR.
  • Write a short, persuasive description for each item.
  • Include a link to the specific product page on your website (if you have one).

3. Automated Messaging

  • Set up a "Greeting Message" that sends automatically when a new customer messages you (e.g., "Welcome to SafeNet! How can we help you today?").
  • Set up an "Away Message" for outside operating hours (e.g., "Thanks for reaching out! We are currently closed, but we will reply first thing tomorrow at 9 AM.").

4. Quick Replies (Time Savers)

  • Create a quick reply for your Bank Account Details (e.g., /bank).
  • Create a quick reply for your Delivery Rates and Times (e.g., /delivery).
  • Create a quick reply for your Return Policy (e.g., /returns).

5. Advanced Readiness (Optional but Recommended)

  • Create Labels to organize chats (e.g., "New Customer", "Pending Payment", "Order Complete").
  • Add a WhatsApp "Click-to-Chat" link to your Instagram bio and Facebook Page.
  • Consider upgrading to the WhatsApp Business API for AI Chatbots if you receive more than 50 messages a day.
